Dubai Harbour Masterplan
Set to open in October 2020, Dubai Harbour is a unique and luxurious waterfront development that combines world-class maritime facilities with the most advanced cruise terminals and the largest marina in the region.
Dubai Harbour’s state-of-the-art cruise facility can accommodate the world's largest cruise ships. The cruise terminals, currently under construction, can dock the largest existing and forthcoming cruise ships and the marina can ultimately accommodate 1,100 yachts up to 160 metres in length. All these new facilities will help the metropolis achieve its ambition of welcoming 20 million tourists in 2020. Van Oord completed its work for the Dubai Harbour Masterplan last November.

In the spotlights
From October 2020, the world’s spotlights will be focused on Dubai for six months when it hosts Expo 2020. Van Oord is National Partner of the Dutch Pavilion.
Van Oord has been involved in some iconic waterfront and infrastructure projects in the Middle East over the past 40 years, and specifically in Dubai. It will play an active role in various programme components for the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020, inviting clients and partners to visit the Dutch Pavilion throughout the six months of the Expo, especially during theme weeks and on the Netherlands’ national day.
Reclaiming 5 million cubic metres of sand
Dredging a 12-kilometre-long navigation channel
Installing 4 million tonnes of rock for revetments
550 hectares of vibro compaction
Constructing 3,750 metres of quay walls
