As part of our game-changing sustainability programme S.E.A (Sustainable Earth Actions), we have developed our Climate Adaptation Action Plan. The plan is the direct result of the powerful speech by former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres, during our 150th anniversary celebrations in 2018. She urged us to take action to limit the effects of climate change, particularly for the world’s most vulnerable communities.
We share that sense of urgency and we are determined to show leadership. Our Climate Adaptation Action Plan is meant to encourage meaningful dialogue and offers communities, cities and governments new perspectives. It consists of three key elements: the Climate Risk Overview, our Climate Adaptation Solutions and the Knowledge Hub. We explain each of these elements in this issue.

Both examples show how we intend to achieve our sustainable ambitions: by offering future-proof interventions and by reducing our own carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.
